                                             Peggy Naas, MD, MBA
Chief Medical Officer – Healthcare Performance Improvement (HPI)

To say the healthcare marketplace and our customers (hospitals and IDNs) are experiencing change would be the understatement of the century.  A short list of current marketplace forces include value based payments, merger mania, human factors integration, consumerism, big data, patient experience, “anywhere care,” patient and care giver safety, and the continued expectation of a low price. In this session Dr. Naas will explore how our customers are attempting to deal with this change and how we can best deal with the current and future uncertainty.   A surgeon and physician leader in clinical, administrative and governance leadership in such organizations as Aspen Medical Group, Allina Health and VHA, Peggy will share her very insightful perspective that we will all benefit from hearing.

10:00 – 10:30 AM                 Morning Break

10:30 – 12:00 PM                 Strategic Execution – The Missing Link – Salon DE
                                              Dan Griffiths, Tanner

Recent research from Deloitte shows that organizations that engage in a quarterly goal-setting process are 3.5X more likely to be in the top quartile of their industry when compared with those that follow an annual planning cycle.  These high-performing organizations build a strategic thinking framework and a regular goal setting cadence that provides them with the flexibility to adjust their plan as circumstances change or new information comes to light.

Your objective is more than just a strategic plan for your business.  Your goal is to train your leadership to think more strategically in the rhythm of their day-to-day responsibilities.  You’ll leave this session with concrete steps you can take to increase the odds that what you set out to do as an organization is what you actually execute.
