David Houle and Jonathan Fleece are co-authors of the forthcoming book, “The New Health Age: The Future of Healthcare and Medicine in America.” Houle is a world renowned futurist and Fleece is one of the foremost practicioners in Health Law in America. Each will make a presentation on “The New Health Age” and will answer questions after. Then toward the end of the morning they will both lead an interactive discussion on what the future of healthcare in America will look like. This morning is not to be missed if you want to know what lies ahead for healthcare in America

John Pritchard, MDSI
John Pritchard, general manager of MDSI and publisher of The Journal of Healthcare Contracting, touches on a number of key topics in the healthcare industry. His presentation explains the factors driving growth in the alternate site market, including the aging population. It touches on the rise of regional purchasing coalitions, their definition and some of the leading models. Accountable Care Organizations and the quality measures and cost savings hoped to be gained from them are covered in the presentation as well.

2:30 – 3:30 PM “Visibility and Intelligence: Your Keys to Growing Your Business (Even as Markets Shrink)”
Bruce Johnson, Chief Executive Officer & President, GHX

In this session, Bruce Johnson, CEO of GHX will provide an overview of some of the market trend data and intelligence being tracked by the GHX Business Intelligence division. She will review key new laws, regulations, and agency initiatives as well as discuss what we might see in 2011 and 2012.
